Why We Have Rebranded
Hello everyone,
Created in Shade has decided to rebrand our business. We have thought long and hard about this decision, and it primarily came about because we felt that our current subline, “Freelance Web Development”, was limiting us to a smaller box. We have been working on a variety of personal projects in the background and would like to commit more time to these projects—so we decided to rebrand.
With that being said, we are dropping the “Freelance Web Development” portion of our name and adding the subline “Design, Educate, Develop” to better showcase our new services and mission.
Fear not—although we have rebranded and our services are changing, we still believe in helping small businesses and supporting the community.
What Has Changed:
We are no longer building starter websites for small businesses as our main offering. Instead, we are now offering website workshops, both in person and online. With this change, we are able to significantly decrease the price point for starter websites, while also giving small businesses the tools and resources to successfully maintain their websites on their own.
We are no longer offering help sessions. Not many people took advantage of them, so we have replaced them with workshops.
New Services:
Software Development:
We are offering this service because many small businesses we have worked with often approach us for custom implementations or add-ons to their sites that need to be programmed. We have also received a few requests for app development.
Technology Consulting:
We are offering this service to help small businesses find the perfect software and hardware for their needs and budget. Many businesses get trapped in expensive subscriptions with limited features that do little to help their operations. There are so many alternatives available, and we want to help connect small businesses to them.
Small Business Solutions & Resources:
Even though we are no longer building starter websites for small businesses, we still want to provide ways to help them in whatever way we can. Currently, we are offering workshops, and we are also working on a small business resource list—along with some other exciting projects.
Community Projects Hub:
We now have a place to showcase community projects that we are working on. These are projects built in-house and supported by us, for the community. We are excited about this as we have a few projects that we have been working on for a while.
Even though we have rebranded and changed some of our offerings, we remain committed to supporting small businesses and our community in any way we can.
